Ways to Cook Shrimp

Even with limited cooking experience, you’ll have no trouble trying the unique ways to cook shrimp. If you’re stuck for ideas, the following should get you untracked.

Baked Shrimp

Ingredients

Shrimp (2 lbs)
1/3 tsp of salt
3 tbsp of cheese (grated)
1/3 tbsp of pepper
A can of cranberry sauce
Bread crumbs (1 cup)
Half a cup of melted butter
2 tsp of parsley flakes
1//4 cup of white wine

Instructions

Wash the shrimp and take out the shell. Don’t take out the tail. Slice the shrimp and remove the vein. Combine all the ingredients except the shrimps. Open the shrimp and put the mixture in there. Place the shrimp on the baking sheet.

Spread some melted butter on the top part. This is one of the fast ways to cook shrimp as you only need to bake it for 20 minutes at 450 F.

Boiling Shrimp

Ingredients

1 lemon (sliced)
1 shrimp (1/2 oz. prepared)
A medium size onion
2 ½ tbsp of salt
Water

Instructions

Set 1 1/2 quart of water in the container. Pour in all the other ingredients minus the shrimp. Put the cover on and allow it to boil. When it boils, put the shrimp in. Let it boil again. Afterwards lower the heat level. Let it simmer for 5 minutes or until the shrimp turns pink.

Remove the shrimp from the container. Remove the juices and place the shrimp in the serving plate. When this way to cook shrimp is used, red sauce will make for an excellent dip. Get a cup of catsup, a teaspoon of horseradish and some onion. Pour this in the bowl and mix it well.

Curry Shrimp

Ingredients

A pound of cooked shrimp
A can of mushroom soup
3 tbsp of butter
2 tsp of curry powder
Onion (large, chopped)
¼ tsp of salt
¼ tsp of pepper
¼ cup of sour cream
A dash of lemon juice
1/3 cup of raisins (seedless)

Instructions

Sauté the onion with a couple of tablespoons of butter. Add the curry and mushroom soup when the onions. Mix this thoroughly. Now you can add the shrimp and the raisins. Heat this for several minutes. Add some salt and pepper. Pour in the sour cream and some lemon juice. This way to cook shrimp is quite easy to do and can be served with rice.

Frying Shrimp

Ingredients

Fresh shrimps (cut off the head)
1 tsp of cooking oil
1 tsp of salt
Cracker meal
2 eggs

Instructions

If the head hasn’t been taken off, do it now. Devein and rinse the shrimp. Sprinkle a bit of salt. Stir the eggs in a bowl. Put the shrimp in the eggs. Next put the shrimp in the cracker meal. Store the shrimps in the fridge for an hour. Deep fry (temp 350 F). Keep cooking until the shrimp turns brown.

Use a knife to pull out the black string in the shrimp. Depending on the recipe, you might have to remove the head or tail. When trying different ways to cook shrimp, don’t be afraid to experiment.
