Ways to Cook Tofu

Raw and Fried Tofu

Some recipes will require tofu to be firm. If it’s too soft, you can just enfold it in a towel for 15 minutes. This should drain out the liquid and make it firm again. Some people like to eat tofu raw. There’s nothing wrong with that, but you need to wash it. This will ensure any bacteria are killed. Afterwards you can eat it.

One of the best ways to cook tofu is by frying it. After washing, slice it into ½ x 1 pieces. Marinate the tofu with any flavorings you want and fry it. Keep frying until it turns crisp.

Ideas for Marinating

You can try ginger or cumin. You can also use some pepper and other spicy seasonings. You put some soy sauce or other Asian seasonings in your marinade. You can serve this with vegetables or add it with your pasta. Another type of flavoring is bread crumbs.

After covering it with bread crumbs, you can dip the tofu in some catsup. Vary the number of teaspoons until you get the flavor you want.

Other Ways to Cook Tofu

There are plenty of other ways you can eat tofu. You can combine it with some strawberries, rice and bananas for a unique drink. You can also substitute a variety of other fruits as well. For baked tofu, remember you can use sweet and sour sauce to give it more flavor.

You can also use some vinegar, ketchup and some brown sugar. Usually a teaspoon of each ingredient will be sufficient. However, only you can determine the proper amount. Combine these ingredients in a pan and fry it.

You can also combine it with garlic and soy sauce. When thinking of the ways to cook tofu, you can use a variety of dips. You can try bread crumbs, garlic, spaghetti, BBQ sauce and many more.


A simple but delicious recipe is to add all your favorite
vegetables in a pan. Add the tofu, water, olive oil, soya and some peanut butter. Fry it until the vegetables are cooked.

You can also combine tofu with teriyaki. Cut the tofu and add some olive oil. When it turns gold pour in a little bit of soy and teriyaki sauce.

You can also eat tofu with some taco sauce. Tofu can also be broiled. Drain the tofu and add 3 tbsp of olive oil, ½ tsp of garlic and a couple of tablespoons of soya sauce.

Immerse the tofu in this mix. Stir it a little. Put the tofu on a baking sheet and broil for 10 minutes. Or you can cook it until the tofu turns brown.
